MRS. ELIZABETH KLIPPENSTEIN
(Mrs.) Elizabeth Klippenstein passed away on April 28 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. She was born to Frank and Helena Isaac on Nov. 6, 1894, in Schoenberg, southern Russia. Growing up in a strong Christian home, she accepted the Lord at the age of thirteen and was baptized and received into the Mennonite Church. On March 17, 1919, she was married to Dietrich Klippenstein and was blessed with ten children, of whom three died at birth. The couple emigrated to Canada in 1924, living first in Laird, Sask., then in Gretna, Manitoba. In 1929 they settled in the Herbert and Main Centre area of Saskatchewan where Elizabeth's husband farmed until 1956. They enjoyed many rich blessings as members of the Main Centre Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1960, after four years of failing health, her husband passed away. Elizabeth continued to live in Herbert until her death.
Her family remembers her as a committed Christian, trusting in the many Bible promises she learned when she was young. She was predeceased by her mother, father, stepmother, three daughters, husband, three brothers, six sisters, one stepbrother and four stepsisters. She leaves to mourn her five sons: Frank of Swift Current, Sask., Dick of Herbert, Sask., Henry of North Vancouver, B.C., Jake of Swift Current and Walter of Calgary, Alberta; two daughters: Helen (Mrs. Edgar Siemens) and Margaret (Mrs. Dave Penner), both of Swift Current. The funeral service was held in the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church, with Henry Voth officiating.
