SUSIE FRANZ KLIEWER

Susie Franz Kliewer, daughter of Abraham and Helena Fast Franz, was born on Jan. 25, 1899, in Henderson, Nebr.

At the age of 15 she received Christ as her Saviour and in June of 1914 was baptized and accepted as a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church at Henderson.

She graduated from Fremont College in 1916 and served as a school teacher for four years. On March 20, 1921, she was united in marriage to George Kliewer, son of Rev. John J. and Susie Abrahams Kliewer. This union was blessed with five children, three sons and two daughters. In March of 1936 the family moved to Bakersfield, Calif. and two years later to Dallas, ore. where she spent the remaining years of her life.

On Nov. 2, 1956, after diagnostic tests and exploratory surgery, it was learned that she had lung cancer. She passed away on Nov. 28, 1956, at 10:50 a. m. To the very last she placed her life completely into the will of the Lord and prayed that the Lord would take her Home. She attained the age of 57 years, 10 months and three days.

She leaves to mourn her early departure, her husband, George Kliewer of Dallas, Ore; three sons, Abe F. of Dallas, George F. of Big Bow, Kan., Neil F. of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Tillie Pauls of Monmouth, Ore., Mrs. Anna Loewen of Wichita, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Abe B. Franz of Parsons, Kan., Dr. George Franz of Enid, Okla., John A. Franz of Buhler, Kan., Henry Franz of Bartlesville, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wall of Dallas, Ore., Mrs. Anna Janzen of Kremlin, Okla., Mrs. Lena Nachtigall of Buhler, Kan., Mrs. Tena Schellenberg of Newton, Kan., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mother's cheerful smile and radiant testimony will be sadly missed by all. Our sorrow is keen but not hopeless, for we await that blessed day when we shall see her again in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. — The Family.
