DOUBLE FUNERAL AT CORN M. B. CHURCH

Corn, Okla., Feb. 27. — A large crowd attended the double funeral services which were held at the local M. B. church Sunday: Mr. Goertzen, who has been a local resident for the last thirty years, was a sufferer of Brights disease which suffering was intense but not of long duration. Although he has suffered with the disease for quite a while, it was not till about a year ago that it became severe. Mr. Goertzen was one of the earliest pioneers in this territory having homesteaded the farm located four and one-half miles eat of Corn. In the meantime he has lived in Washington and California but for the last four years has been a resident of Corn where he owned three residences. Ever since his condition became severe he has been taken care of by his daughter, Mrs. H. D. Kroeker.

Mr. P. W. Kliewer, who was a resident of Ingalls, Kansas, when he died, homesteaded the farm which Peter F. Harder now owns located southwest of Corn. Mr. Kliewer had a wonderful voice talent and has sung on many occasions to the admiration of all listeners. He was a choir member of the local church during his residence here at Corn. He has lived at various places including, Kansas, Oklahoma and Michigan. He has always been in good healthy condition. His death came as a result of the flue with which he suffered for nine days.
