Birth date: 1866
text of obituary:
The sad news of the departure of Mr. John J. Kliewer on Monday evening spread gloom upon many of the friends of the stricken family. Mr. Kliewer was taken sick on Thursday having contracted a bad case of pneumonia. His family soon realized that the sickness was of a serious nature and in order to give the patient all possible chance to recover he was taken to the Bethel hospital. But human skill was of no avail and Mr. Kliewer himself longed to be relieved soon. On Monday evening at about 9 o'clock he passed away. It happened to be his 64th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Kliewer had accompanied their children, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Kliewer, on a trip to Duluth and Hibbing, returning last Sunday evening. On the trip Mr. Kliewer seemed to be in the best of health. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Bethel Church. Peter Kliewer of California who was informed of the death of his father is on the way to Mountain Lake. He left before the last news reached him.
