— Christ Kliewer of Pawnee Rock, whose critical illness we reported last week, died Wednesday night, June 17, according to a message received here by relatives. Funeral services were held at Pawnee Rock.

CHRISTIAN H. KLIEWER
Christian H. Kliewer, son of Henry and Maria Kliewer, as born February 28, 1888, on the Indian mission station at Cantontment [sic Cantonment], Okla. After an illness of one month he passed away at St. Rose Hospital in Grewat Bend, Kansas, at the age of 54 years three months, and 19 days.
At an early age he became a member of the Shelly, Okla., Mennonite church. On April 9, 1917, he was married to Arpa Schmidt. This union was blessed with four children. The oldest daughter, Melba, preceded him to the great Beyond in September, 1939.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. B. Schmidt, were held at the Mennonite church at Pawnee Rock on Saturday, June 20. Burial took place in the Pawnee Rock cemetery.
Pall bearers were max Smith, Leo Smith, H. S. Kliewer, P. S. Dirks, Lawrence Koehn, and Albert Deckart.
Mr. Kliewer leaves to mourn his departure his deeply sorrowing wife, two daughters and one son, all at home; his aged father at Villanova, Pa.; five brothers, Gerhart of Newton; John, Philadelphia, Pa.; Dan, Villnova, Pa.; Albert, Lancaster, Pa.; Sam, Tulsa, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Gamber, Scottdale, Pa.; Mrs. Sarah Fietz, Villanova, Pa.; Mrs. Wm. Winsinger, and Miss Frieda, both of Lancaster, Pa.
