MRS. H. G. KLIEWER

Mrs. Henry G. Kliewer, nee Anna Martens Pankratz, was born on Sept.15, 1880 in Alexanderwohl, Russia. She came to America with her parents in 1886, first settling in Kansas, and then coming with them to Washita County, Oklahoma in 1892, where they settled on a homestead northeast of Cordell. Here she grew up amidst pioneer hardships.

On Feb. 25, 1900 she was married to Henry G. Kliewer, settling with him on a homestead west of Shelly, Okla. and sharing with him joys and sorrows for 40 years.

She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour in her youth and became a member of the Sichar Mennonite Church, later transferring her membership to the Herold Mennonite Church.

She was preceded in death in 1937 by a grandson Eldon Kliever, in 1940 by her husband, and in 1950 by her son, Theodore H. Kliewer

She was a kind, loving and Christian mother who endured hardships for and with her family, especially during the pioneer years.

She enjoyed good health throughout her life until more recent years. She was admitted to the hospital for the first time in her life on July 12. On July 24 she was relieved of her suffering and the Lord took his child home to be with Him in Glory. She reached the age of 83 years, ten months, and nine days.

She leaves to mourn her departure: One daughter Martha, Mrs. Albert G. Schmidt of Corn, Okla.; one son, Menno H. Kliewer of Caldwell, Ida.; one son-in-law and two daughters-in-law; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ben Pankratz of Selma, Calif., and many other relatives and friends.
