MRS. AGNES KLIEWER

Our loving mother. Agnes Kliewer, was born May 21, 1875, in the Village of Lindenau in the Molotschna in South Russia. She emigrated with her parents, Martin Hieberts, to America in 1887 and settled at Henderson, Nebraska.

At the age of 19 a special joy swept into her soul when she experienced peace with God. She was baptized by Elder J. J. Regier on May 27, 1894, and was received into the membership of the M. B church at Henderson, Nebraska.

In the year of 1896 on Dec. 1 she was united in the Holy Bond of matrimony to our loving father C. J. Kliewer, with whom she shared joy and sorrow for 44 years. Our father preceded her in death in 1940 at the age of 71 years, 8 months and four days.

Eight children were born to our parents, four sons and tour daughters. Our parents lived at Henderson, Nebr. till 1918 when they came to Hepburn, Saskatchewan. After a few years they moved to Dalmehy, where mother lived until her death.

In the year 1944 she and sister Mary went to California to stay with her son John, where she had the misfortune to break one of her hips, from which she never fully recovered. On May 18, 1951, she took sick with influenza, and alter four days of illness at home she was taken to the City hospital at Saskatoon. After being examined and X-ray taken, the doctor discovered that pneumonia had set in one lung. About ten days later she had a light stroke, and about a week after that she had hemorrhage of the brain, from which she recovered somewhat. After being in the hospital for more than two months, the doctor permitted her to go to her home at Dalmeny. Here her condition seemed to improve slowly until she suffered a third stroke.

On the 30th of September she was again taken to the City hospital in Saskatoon where her condition became more and more critical. She had only one desire, and that was to be permitted to go to her heavenly home to be with her Saviour where there is no pain nor sorrow. She was always a kind and loving mother who prayed for all her children and grandchildren and her sincere wish was that she might meet them all in heaven.

She enjoyed the fellowship of her many friends and loved to talk about spiritual things.

She attained the age of 76 years, four months and 23 days. She leaves to mourn her departure, four sons and four daughters, three sons-in-law, four daughters-in-law, fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her parents, our father, four sisters, two brothers and three grandchildren preceded her in death.

Her children are: Mr. and Mrs. John C. Kliewer, Fresno, California; Mr. and Mrs. Peter C. Kliewer, Hepburn, Sask.; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Kliewer, Henderson, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Claus Kliewer, Saskatoon, Sask.; (Martha) Mr. and Mrs. D. I. Doerksen, Hepburn, Sask.; (Ida) Mr. and Mrs. John A. Schmidt. Mennon, Sask.; (Nettie) Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Woodwards, York, Nebr.; and Mary at home who has diligently cared for mother for the last seven years.

She also leaves one sister, Mrs. John Poettker; two brothers, Henry Hiebert at Azusa, Cal., and Peter M. Hiebert at Los Angeles, Cal.

We will miss our dear mother, for our home on earth is broken up, but we are looking beyond the grave to our eternal home which mother now enjoys.—The Bereaved Family.
