Jacob G. Klassen of Goessel, former long-time manager of the Goessel Telephone Company, died Apr. 14 at the Bethesda Home at the age of 85. He was married in 1919 to Katharina Woelk, and they lived at Goessel except for a seven-year residency at Hesston. He managed the telephone firm for 32 years and also was employed a number of years at Hesston Corporation. She died in 1972. Services for Klassen were held Apr. 17 at the Goessel Mennonite Church with Henry Goossen officiating. Survivors include a son, Walter of Hoepdale, Ill.; two daughters Mrs. Ella Deines of Wichita and Esther (Mrs. Harold) Thieszen of Moundridge; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jacob G. Klassen of Goessel, former long-time manager of the Goessel Telephone Company, died Apr. 14 at the Bethesda Home at the age of 85. He was married in 1919 to Katharina Woelk, and they lived at Goessel except for a seven-year residency at Hesston. He managed the telephone firm for 32 years and also was employed a number of years at Hesston Corporation. She died in 1972.
