DAVID H. KLASSEN

David H. Klassen was born August 7, 1943 in Winkler, Manitoba and grew up and received his education in nearby Morden. In 1964 David moved with his parents to Port Rowan, Ont. He accepted Christ as personal Saviour in early youth and in his teens joined, the Morden Mennonite Brethren Church through baptism.

David attended the Morden Collegiate Institute and the MBC Winnipeg. He was in his third year at Prairie Bible Institute, Three Hills, as he first became aware that he was ill, later proven by tests to be a type of muscular dystrophy. Knowing the way the disease would progress, David went through many trials and yet dedicated his life to complete service for Christ. He was admitted to Norfolk General Hospital in June, 1968, where he remained until his death on January 27, 1970. He had many contacts with patients and nurses during his illness, leaving a memory of what it means to live as a child of God. The memory of his friendly smile and positive attitude will always be a comfort and inspiration to his loved ones and friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Klassen, Port Rowan, Ont.; one brother, Ben, missionary to Congo; five sisters, Mrs. Bill (Emma) Goertzen, Chilliwack, Mrs. Peter (Eva) Loewen, Cali, Colombia, Mrs. Arnold (Anena) Dyck, Portage la Prairie, Man., Mrs. Abe (Frieda) Dyck, Port Rowan, Mrs. Tom (Lydia) Klassen, Simcoe, Ont., and many relatives and friends.

The family is comforted by the words of 2 Tim. 4:7,8: "I have fought the good fight...Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that .day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing."
