ABE P. KLASSEN
Abe P. Klassen, son of P. M. and Mary Klassen, was born at Herbert, Sask. June 5, 1911, and departed this life at the age of 45 years, five months, and two days. He was the youngest of eight children. His mother died when he was six and soon thereafter, in 1919, he moved to California with his father and the rest of his family. He attended Reedley elementary and high school.
At the age of 13 he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and upon confession of his faith he was baptized and accepted as a member into the Reedley M. B. church. This assurance of salvation remained with him, and was borne out in his testimony, especially in recent visits with the family and his father with whom he visited an hour b before his death. After visiting his father at the home for the aged in Reedley, Nov. 7, he left for his home at Johannesburg, Calif. and met death in an auto collision near Tulare at about 10:30 p. m.
During the war he served several years in the U. S. Merchant Marine. He was married to Mary Ward and resided in Johannesburg where they operate the Miners Trading Post. They attended a small community church in that vicinity.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two older brothers, Peter and Jacob. He leaves to mourn his aged father, his wife Mary, four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Anna Gerbrandt and Mrs. Mary Gerbrandt both of Reedley, Mrs. Kathryn Kroeker of Tranquility, Mrs. Sarah Eitzen of Dinuba; and C. P. Klassen of San Jose.
We mourn not as those who have no hope but rather look forward to the time when we shall see him again and enjoy his fellowship forever in the presence of our Lord. — Mrs. Klassen and the Family.
