THEODORE KLAASSEN

Theodore Klaassen was born on April 28, 1915 to Jacob R. and Justina Block Klaassen at Hillsboro, Kan. He accepts Christ as his personal Saviour and on July 3, 1932 was baptized by Rev. John J. Friesen and received into the Gnadenau Church.

He grew up and received his education in the Hillsboro community. His entire lifetime was spent in this community.

On June 10, 1932 he was married to Rubena Esther Leppke. The Lord gave them a little over 27 years of wonderful life together. When his father passed away suddenly he took over the responsibility of the farm, where they have resided until the present.

His love for the Lord and interest in the church led to his election as deacon of the Parkview M. B. Church, Hillsboro, in which office he was active until his death. It was fitting that he climaxed his life in a labor of love for on the last Sunday of his sojourn on this earth he together with his deacon brethren served the Lord's Supper during the morning worship service.

He was a loving husband and father. He carried a grave concern for the spiritual welfare of each one of his children and lived to see all of them accept Christ as personal Saviour. He prayed for them daily as well as for others with whom he worked that had spiritual needs.

The Lord saw fit to take him to his heavenly home Thursday evening, Oct. 8, 1970, having reached the age of 55 years.

His parents preceded him in death. Those who will continue to cherish the memory of his love and devotion are his widow, Rubena; three sons, Ronald of Highland, Kan., Milford and Kevin, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Ron Paxton of Kent, Wash. and Diane, at home; one son-in-law, Ron Paxton; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Faith Klassen; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Justina and Esther of Hillsboro.

Though we sorrow over the passing of our father and husband, it is not without hope. We look beyond the valley of the shadow of death to the great resurrection day when we shall meet again in the presence of the Lord. — The Bereaved Family.
