Elvera E. (Mrs. Herman Klaassen of Newton died Oct. 11 at Axtell Christian Hospital. She was 70. Services took place Oct. 13 at the First Mennonite Church with Floyd Bartel and L. W. Jantzen in charge. born Elvera Regier, she was married in 1938 to Herman H. Klaasen. She was a homemaker and lifetime Newton resident. Her husband survives, along with two sons, Jim of Newton and Larry of Gillette, Wyo.; two brothers, Willie G. Regier and Gus H. Regier of Whitewater; a sister, Ella Thierstein of Whitewater, and three grandsons.
