LITTLE GIRL MEETS DEATH UNDER SAND TRUCK

Hillsboro, Kansas, April 20. — Little Miss Nadine Kisner, the five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kisner, of Lehigh, met an untimely death at approximately noon Thursday of last week when she was hit and killed by a truck loaded with sand.

She, in company with Mrs. Carl Riffel, was crossing the street as two of the large sand trucks which were hauling sand for the sanding of the highway from Hillsboro to the McPherson county line, passed on the street. The little girl seeing only one of the trucks, jerked away from Mrs. Riffel and ran past one of the trucks and right under the other, it c4rushng the life from her little body immediately.

At the coroner's inquest, which was held as soon as possible after the accident, it was pronounced an unavoidable accident. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, at the Mennonite church at Lehigh and the remains laid to rest in the Lehigh cemetery. — Hillsboro Star.
