Orrville, Ohio. — Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. King, 80, wife of D. P. King, were held at the Oak Grove Mennonite church Sunday afternoon, July 13. She suffered a heart attack the evening of July 10 and passed away the following morning shortly after being admitted to the Dunlap Memorial hospital here.

She was a life-long resident of Wayne county, and a member of the Orrville Mennonite church. She and her husband, former building contractor here, have lived at Sarasota, Florida about half of the time since his retirement.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Daniel Mumaw of Orrville; two sons, Joseph Posar of Steubenville and Robert King of Delaware; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and four brothers, Elmer King of Wooster, Chauncey King of Eustic, Fla., Edward King and Solomon King of Orrville.

MARY E. KING

Mary E. King, daughter of John and Elizabeth Schrock King, was born December 11, 1871, near Orrville, Ohio and died at the Dunlap Memorial hospital, Orrville, July 11, 1952, aged 80 years and seven months.

She lived most of her life in the community of Orrville except for six years when she and her husband lived in Barberton, Ohio, and for the past six winters which they spent in Sarasota, Florida.

On November 9, 1899, she was united in marriage to David P. King of West Liberty, Ohio. They had no children of their own but were foster parents to Stella, Mrs. Daniel Mumaw of Orrville, Joseph Posar of Steubenville, Ohio, and Robert King of Delaware, Ohio. There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband and all her foster children and grand and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Elmer of Wooster, Ohio, Chauncey of Eustis, Florida, and Edwin and Solomon of Orrville. There remain many other relatives and friends who share with the family in their sorrow and sudden bereavement in the passing of their loved one. Those of her family who preceded her in death were her father and mother, one brother, Orie and one sister Minnie, Mrs. Amos Zeigler.

In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour, and on May 24, 1890, she was received into the fellowship of the Oak Grove Mennonite church with a class of 42 members, of which number 19 are still living. Later she and her husband held their church membership with the Orrville Mennonite congregation. She was loyal to her baptismal vow, was faithful in keeping the ordinances of the House of the Lord, and ready at all times to support the work of the church in advancing the cause of Christ. She was a woman of true moral worth, diligent in the performance of home duties and exemplary in her Christian witness in home, community and church. She will be greatly missed in her many labors of love.

Funeral services were conducted from the home and the Oak Grove Mennonite church. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. Ministers officiating were Harold Bauman, Virgil Gerig, and I. W. Royer.
