Emil Kim Dies Suddenly.

Emil Kim, who lives southeast of Inman, died very suddenly last Friday evening with apoplexy. He had been to the telephone to listen to a general ring that had been given to advertise a sale after which he went to bed. He had only been in bed about ten minutes when he complained of having a severe pain in his head and asked his folks to call the doctor which was done immediately but before the doctor could get there he had passed away.

Mr. Kim was born in Bezirk Rheinfelden, Kanton Argau, Switzerland, on Feb. 15, 1862. When he was four years old his father died. At the age of 15 years he was confirmed and united with the Moehlen congregation. When he was 18 years old his mother sent him to Paris, France, to study art, where he remained for two years. When he returned he continued in the study and became a real master of art. He worked at his trade here with great success.

In the year of 1881 he was married to Josephiene Schneider to which union were born 4 children. His wife died in the year of 1892 in Switzerland.

In March 1896 he came to America.

On Sept. 2, 1897 he united in marriage to Elisa Booz and to this union were born 6 children, all survive him. He reached the age of 56 years, 9 months and 7 days.

The funeral services were held at the Hoffnungsau church on Tuesday afternoon. Short services were conducted at the house by Rev. Abr. Ratzlaff. Rev. A. J. Dyck officiated at the church and was assisted by Rev. Peter Flaming and Rev. Abr. Ratzlaff. Short services at the cemetery was conducted by Rev. D. D. Unruh. A choir led by P. D. Gaeddert sang some beautiful selections. The remains were laid to rest in the Hoffnungsau cemetery.
