— Rudolf Kessler, 58, farmer of the Lehigh community, died unexpectedly Wednesday night, Feb. 26, at his home following a heart attack. Although he was known to have a heart condition, he had not been ill and continued to operate his farm. He and Mrs. Kessler had observed their 30th wedding anniversary on the day of his death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Lehigh Mennonite Church. Among the survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Otto Warkentin and Mrs. Ed. Warkentin of Newton.

RUDOLF KESSLER

Rudolf Kessler, son of Gustav and Lena (Weyand) Kessler, was born on Jan. 18, 1900, near Hillsboro, Kansas. Later the family moved to a farm near Lehigh, where he attended the Rose Hill Rural School.

On January 18, 1920, he was baptized and accepted into the fellowship of the Mennonite Church of Lehigh where he was a faithful member until his death.

On Feb. 26, 1928, he was married to Katherine Kasper with whom he has shared life's joys and sorrows for thirty years.

Three children were born to this union, two sons and one daughter, Carol Ann, who preceded him in death on July 2,1949.

Over a period of years he had been afflicted with a heart ailment which caused his death on February 26, 1958. He attained the age of 58 years, one month and eight days.

He leaves to mourn his departure: his wife, Katherine; two sons, Donald of Newton and Gerald of the home; one daughter-in-law, Randelyn; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Lena Kessler; two sisters, Frieda (Mrs. Ed G. Warkentin) of Newton and Lena (Mrs. Otto Warkentin) of Newton; two aunts, Mrs. Caroline Unruh of Goessel and Mrs. Lena Flick of Germany; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.
