Great-Grandmother, 94, Dies at Roanoke, Ill.

Metamora, Ill. — Mrs. Sarah Kennell, 94, a native of Metamora Township and lifelong resident of this area, died Dec. 12 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John Hosteler, near Roanoke.

She was a long-time member of the Linn Amish Mennonite Church where the funeral services were conducted on Dec. 14.

Grandmother Kennell, the former Sarah Bachman, was married to John W. Kennell in 1888. Four sons and three daughters were born to them, of whom one son and three daughters survive. Mr. Kennell died in 1946.

Grandmother Kennell was the last surviving member of her family.
