ANNA REEB KENNEL

Anna Reeb Kennel, daughter of Adam and Anna (Zoss) Reeb, was born at Metamora, Ill. on Nov. 16, 1890. She died suddenly of a heart attack at her home near Shickley, Neb. on Feb. 5, 1975, at the

In her youth she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized as a member of the Salem Mennonite Church, to which she remained faithful until death.

On Oct. 16, 1911, she was married to Peter B. Kennel and together they shared a full life of joys and sorrows for 63 years. This union was blessed with six children. Surviving are her loving companion, the children, Harry, Fern (Mrs. Joe Springer), Lester, and Mahlon, all of Shickley, Willard of Salem, Ore. and Leroy of Lombard, Ill.; five daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Fred Reeb of Geneva, Neb. Preceding her in death were one sister and one brother.

Her greatest desire was to live a Christian life and she was deeply concerned for the spiritual welfare of her children and grandchildren. She was blessed with her giving, sharing spirit, and through the 40 years of ministry she shared with her husband, she opened her home countless times to share meals and lodging with visiting ministers, laymen and friends. Even in her later years when she couldn't get around too well, she was still eager to share all she could with those who entered her home.

Funeral services were held on Feb. 8 at the Salem Mennonite Church, in charge of her son, Leroy Kennel, her grandson, Ron Kennel, and Lee Schlegel.
