CHARLES WEISEL KELLER

Charles Weisel Keller, son of Reuben and Evelyn Weisel Keller, was born December 23, 1944, and reared in Plumstead Township, Bucks county, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of four sons.

At a very early age he learned to sing hymns and gospel choruses taught to him by his mother. He particularly liked to sing the familiar children’s hymn “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know" and the gospel song “I'm a child of the King.” He was intelligent and showed promise of a useful life.

In recent times he developed epilepsy. On September 24, 1950, he went to live at the Oakbourne Colony hospital, near West Chester, Pennsylvania. Early on the morning of April 25, 1951, he passed away at the age of six years. His grandparents, parents and three brothers, Reuben, Harold, and Robert remain.

The funeral was held at the Deep Run Mennonite meetinghouse of the Eastern Conference, Sunday, April 29. Pastor J. Herbert Fretz preached from Job 1:21, “The Lord gave, the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord.” The interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
