• Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Reimer of Newton, Mrs. Willard J. Reimer and daughter Kristina of Whitewater and Ralph Kauffman of Yoder left last week for Kalispell, Mont. to attend funeral services for Norman L. Kauffman, father of the two Mrs. Reimers. The services were to be held Saturday at a funeral home in Kalispell. Mr. Kauffman, a member of the Mt. View Mennonite Church there, died Jan. 9, the day before his 81str birthday.

Norman L. Kauffman, son of Daniel D. and Mary (Steckley) Kauffman, was born Jan. 10, 1886 near Hartford, Kansas; died Jan. 9, 1967 at Kalispell, Mont., age 80 years, 11 months, 30 days.

At the age of 15 he moved with his parents to Parnell, Iowa where he grew to manhood. On Sept. 15, 1909 he was married to Anna Grace Snyder at Roseland, Neb. They made their home near Wellman, Iowa until the spring of 1911. On April 1, 1911 they arrived at Kalispell, Mont. and made their home in the Creston area where he was engaged in farming and sawmill work until July 1962 when they moved to 528 3rd Avenue East, Kalispell.

In his youth he joined the Mennonite church and remained an active, faithful member until the time of his death. He was instrumental in helping to organize the Mountain View Mennonite church near Creston, of which he was a charter member. He served the church as Sunday school superintendent, song leader and Sunday school teacher. He also served the community as school trustee and in various other ways.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Sanford Jacob, in October 1953; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Grace, at the family home in Kalispell; seven sons, Reuben S. of Condon, Mont., Dr. David V. of Whitefish, Mont., Paul S., Aldine C., Norman D., James A., and Joseph S., all of Rt. 4, Kalisspell; seven daughters, Mabel, Mrs. Joe H. Miller of Missoula, Mont., Ruth, Mrs. Daniel Stutzman of Ronan, Mont., Mary A. L. Slater of Nampa, Idaho, Berniece, Mrs. Adolf Reimer of Newton, Kan., Lillie, Mrs. Gordon Weber of Guersey, Sask., Rosella, Mrs. Claire Eby of Drake, Sask., and Gladys, Mrs. Reimer of Whitewater, Kan.; 64 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lillie, Mrs. George Hoylman, Kalispell, Barbara, Mrs. Sam Hoylman of South English, Iowa, Mrs. Lena Lapp and Mrs. Ella Slater, both of Kalispell; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Jan. 14, 1967 at the Mountain View Mennonite Church near Creston in charge of John G. Hochstetler and Dan D. Brenneman; internment [''sic''] in Conrad Memorial Cemetery near Kalispell.
