— Samuel R. Kauffman, well-known watchmaker of Belleville, Pa., died at his home there on march 23, at the age of 63 years. Commenting on his passing, the Belleville Times states; "He lived alone and not arising on Thursday morning, his helper, Enos Peachey, went to his room and found his body with the tick of life gone, but the clocks and watches in his office ticked on." Funeral services were held at the L9cust Grove Mennonite church, conducted by Preachers John Mast and Emanuel Peachey.
