LIFE-TIME RESIDENT OF OHIO COMMUNITY, LAST OF 12 CHILDREN, DIED AT 83

West Liberty, Ohio. — Funeral services were held at the Oak Grove Mennonite church here on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 1, for Christian L. Kauffman, who was born in this county July 17, 1863, and lived here all of his 83 years. Services were in charge of Bishops N. E. Troyer and S. E. Allgyer.

The deceased was the last of a family of twelve whose parents, Christian and Mary Hooley Kauffman, were pioneer residents here coming from Pennsylvania. He was a farmer and cement contractor and was active until last spring, when confined to his home by a fractured leg.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie, to whom he was married in 1890, one daughter and three sons.
