YOUNG GIRL DIES FROM BURNS RECEIVED WHEN CLOTHING CATCHES FIRE
Belleville, Pa., May 25. — Bernica Pauline Kauffman, Alden, N. Y., 8 years, 1 month and 25 days, died at the Buffalo City Hospital, Buffalo, New York, the result of burns received when her clothing caught fire while she and other children were playing along the railroad where the railroad workmen had burned the grass and weeds.
Most of the little girl's clothing was burned from her body. She was rushed to the hospital where she lived from Saturday until Wednesday when the good Lord called her out of this world to be with Him.
She was the daughter of Daniel and Levina Kauffman, who survive with seven brothers, William, Wallace, Walter, Roman, Charles, Raymond and Paul. those from a distance attending her funeral were her grandfather, Obner Miller, and her uncles and aunts, W. W. Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Roman Miller and children, Lois Ann, Carl and Ruth, all of Plain City, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Eli D. Kramer and children, Mary, LaVina, Daniel, Martha, all of Meadville, Penna.; Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan D. Kauffman and daughter, Dorris, Rudy Kauffman, Mrs. Ben Pechey and Mrs. C. B. Yoder, all of Belleville, Penna.
Funeral services were held at the church near Alden, New york conducted by preachers John Bontrager and Noah Miller. — Belleville Tiems.
