Aged Couple Injured In Auto Accident.
Hillsboro, Kansas, Dec. 8. — A sad accident happened shortly after church Sunday evening when Mr. and Mrs. Pete Kasper were struck by a car driven by Marvin Klassen and Jimmie Hiebert. Mr. and Mrs. Kasper were carried a short distance by the car and Mr. Kasper received serious injuries, while Mrs. Kasper received only minor bruises.
The injured couple were taken to the Hospital at once where they were given immediate attention, but Mr. Kasper was unable to survive the accident and passed away Tuesday at noon. Mrs. Kasper is at her home and is feeling badly but will recover.
Mr. and Mrs. Kasper had attended church and had gone down the sidewalk east to about the alley line and cut across the street to the sidewalk on the north side when they were hit by the car coming east. The boys were driving a little to the north of the center of the street in order to avoid cars that were backing out from the parking space at the M. B. church and were driving at a very moderate speed, but evidently failed to see the couple crossing in front of them.
The boys are both terribly broken up over the accident and they deserve the sympathy of the residents of the city as does Mrs. Kasper in the loss of her husband.
Mr. Kasper's funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the M. B. Church. — Hillsboro Star.
