ANNEMARIE JULIA KAETHLER

Our little daughter, Annemarie Julia Kaethler, was born May 21, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas. In her short life time she had to suffer much pain, for she was a sickly weak child. Immediately alter her birth she had to remain in the hostpital [sic] for 17 days on account of her weak condition. Twice she had to be returned there; but complete healing she could not find.

On Sept. 16 of this year we started our long, difficult journey homeward to Paraguay, South America with this weak tender “flower” of ours. During this time she grew more restless and had to endure constantly growing pain. Thus the joy of the reunion with our loved ones and friends was mingled with a deep sorrow.

During the last weeks her condition had become so serious that we decided to resort to surgery which alone could give her relief. On Dec. 2, 1953, she was taken to the hospital in the early morning hours where she underwent a serious abdominal operation. Our capable physicians, Dr. Dollinger and Dr. Rakko, did their best to help her, but our heavenly Physician had decided to relieve her of all suffering and pain. For a few hours post-operatively her condition appeared to be remarkably good but at 12 o'clock noon of that same day her life light was suddenly cut off, as if a gust of wind had blown out the little candle. Our Father called her into his heavenly home where there is no pain, no grief, no parting. She reached an age of six months and 11 days.

Our heavenly Gardner [sic] has transplanted our tender plant, “Annemarie,” into the beautiful celestial garden where she is growing and blooming and waiting for our reunion.—The bereaved parents. Dr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Kaethler, Philadelphia, Fernheim, Chaco, Paraguay.
