— Relatives here just received word that Henry M. Just, 73, of Reedley, Calif. died unexpectedly there Saturday morning. Funeral services were to be held Thursday at the Reedley M. B. Church. Mr. Just was a brother of Mrs. Menno Harder, North Newton, and Mrs. H. H. Cornelsen, Hillsboro. Also surviving are his second wife, Mrs. Marie Just, two sons and two daughters, among them Dr. L. Roy Just of Fresno, Calif. and former member of the Tabor College faculty.

HENRY MARTIN JUST

Henry Martin Just, our beloved husband and father, was born near Aulne, Kansas on Feb. 10, 1884.

In his early youth he, with his parents, moved to Fairview, Okla. There, at the age of 18, he experienced the joy of accepting Christ as his personal Saviour and on August 3, 1902, was baptized by Rev. Jacob Kliewer and was welcomed into the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church, of which he remained a faithful member.

On Oct. 27, 1905, he was united in holy matrimony to Eva Unruh. The Lord blessed and sustained this union of mutual love and devotion for 45 years less eleven days. To whom were born four sons and one daughter of whom two sons and one daughter survive.

The early home was established at Boyd, Okla. and after 13 ears the family moved to Reedley, Calif. Here he engaged in the furniture business for 12 years after which he farmed in Texas for four years. In 1934 he brought the family to Dinuba, Calif. where he again successfully engaged in the furniture business until he retired in 1950. That same year mother passed away.

On Feb. 25 of the following year, after a period of deep loneliness, he was happily married to Mrs. Marie Entz and the new home was established in Reedley, Calif.

He was a devoted husband and loving father. His deep and abiding faith in God was a constant source of peace and contentment, and his trust in Christ as Savior and Keeper never wavered. His faith in God kept him from worry and discontent. This gave him a friendly and congenial spirit for which he was known to many.

He enjoyed attending church and participating in business meetings. Whether serving the church as Sunday school superintendent in his younger years or as usher or trustee in later years, he found joy in these activities. For many years he served as a delegate to district and general conferences, and three years ago in Hillsboro, Kansas, was honored as being one of two general conference delegates present who had served forty years before at a general conference in Hillsboro.

God blessed him with an abundance of health and it was not until two years ago, at the age of 71, that a stroke reduced his normal activities. His health, though failing, was holding up fairly well until Saturday morning, Nov. 2, 1957, when it suddenly took a turn for the worse and at 9:00 o'clock he quietly joined the heavenly hosts. He reached the age of 73 years, eight months and 23 days.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Just; two sons and a daughter, Marvin Just and wife Emma, Mrs. Pauline Bartel and husband William A., of Dinuba, and Roy Just and wife Evelyn of Fresno; seven grandchildren; one step-son and two step-daughters, Irwin Entz and wife Mary of Reedley, Mrs. Ethel Klassen and husband Jack of Tule Lake, Calif., and Mrs. Bernice Friesen and husband Benny of Fresno, and eight step-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Jacob J. Just and Mrs. Elizabeth Cornelson of Hillsboro, Kansas, John L. Just of Reedley, Mrs. Anna Karber of Perryton, Texas, and Peter M. Just of Fairview, Okla., and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted in the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church on Nov. 7, with Rev. Dan Friesen, pastor, bringing the memorial message. — The Bereaved Family.
