Elisabeth Flickinger Zerger Juhnke, Tochter von Jacob und Barbara Graber Flickinger, ward am 28. Dez. 1852 in Rußland geboren. In 1872 heiratete sie Joseph Zerger und sie kamen 1874 nach der Freeman, Süd Dakota Gegend wo sie die Pionierjahre dort und später auch in Kansas durchmachten. Sie und ihr Gatte waren Gründungsglieder der Pretty Prairie Mennonitengemeinde. Nachdem ihr Gatte in 1885 starb, zog sie mit ihren Kindern nach Illinois, wo sie dann Carl Juhnke heiratete und dann mit ihm nach Moundridge, Kansas kam. Später machte sie ihr Heim mit ihren Kindern und in 1935 zog sie nach Miami, Florida zu ihrer Tochter Lena Holly, wo sie am 14. März 1946 abgerufen wurde nach ihrer himmlischen Heimat. Sie wurde 93 J. 2 M. und 16 Tage alt und hinterläßt die folgenden Kinder: Jacob Zerger, Pretty Prairie; Anna Graber, Kenosho, Wisc.; Frau Mary Albrecht, Weatherford, Okla.; Frau Carrie Johnson, Moundridge, Kans.; Frau Lena Holly, Miami, Florida; dazu 2 Schwestern: Frau Katharen Schankel, und Frau Mary Sener, beide in California; dann 31 Enkel, 61 Urenkel und viele Freunde.

ELISABETH JUHNKE

Elisabeth Flickinger (Zerger) Juhnke, daughter of Jacob and Barbara (Graber) Flickinger, was born in Russia on December 28, 1852.

She was joined in marriage to Joseph Zerger in 1872. in 1874 she, together with her husband, came to America where they experienced the hardships of pioneer life in South Dakota and later in Kansas. Here she and her husband were charter members of the First Mennonite church of Pretty Prairie.

After the death of her husband in 1885 she and her children moved to illinois. Here she was married to Carl Juhnke, with whom she came to Moundridge, Kansas. Later she made her home with her children. In 1935 she moved to Miami, Fla., where she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Lena Holly.

Mrs. Juhnke was called to her heavenly home on March 14, 1946, at the age of 93 years, two months and 16 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure, one son, Jacob Zerger, Pretty Praire [sic Prairie]; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Graber, Kenosha, Wis., Mrs. Mary Albrecht, Weatherford, Okla., Mrs. Carrie Johnson, Moundridge; and Mrs. Lena Holly, Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Kathren Schankle and Mrs. Mary Saner, both of California; 31 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
