FRANK R. JOST
Frank R. Jost, son of Henry and Kathrine [sic Katharina] Regehr Jost, was born April 24, 1893 near Hillsboro, Kan. He passed away on June 1, 1972 in the Salem Hospital, Hillsboro.
Having accepted Christ as his personal Saviour, he was baptized on Oct. 10, 1915 and joined the Gnadenau K.M.B. church. He received his elementary education at the Hope Valley School and attended Tabor Academy from 1912 to 1914.
On Oct. 19, 1916 he was married to Marie Loewen in the Ebenfeld Church and farmed in the Ebenfeld community until he retired and moved to Hillsboro in 1957 due to failing health. He recovered sufficiently to enjoy working in his repair. He and his wife were member of the Ebenfeld church until they joined the Parkview M. B. Church in 1959.
The work of the church was a great joy to him. His longest service for the church was a sexton of the cemetery, and singing in the Gospel Male Chorus.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his widow, Marie, and four children: LaVerna, Mrs. Walter L. Penner of La Habra, Calif.; Marlys, and her husband Dr. Dan Penner of Hillsboro, Eldon and his wife Luella of Buhler, Kan., Victor and his wife Myrna of Hillsboro; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Franklyn Jost, 15 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and two brothers, Abe R. and Jake R. Jost of Reedley, Calif.
His oldest son, Rev. Franklyn Jost, and one son-in-law, Rev. Walter Penner, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
