FLOYD M. JOHNSON

Floyd M. Johnson, son of the late George M. and Ida Mae (Holdeman) Johnson, was born at Fergus Falls, Minn. on May 26, 1913. He died of cancer at his home in Perryton, Texas, July 20, 1961, aged 48 years, one month, and 25 days.

On June 21, 1936 he was married to Lulu Belle Kauffman of Guymon, Okla. They lived in Guymon until 1944 when they moved to Perryton. This spring they were privileged to observe their 25th wedding anniversary. He was the oldest of a large family and the entire family was able to be present at a reunion in honor of their anniversary, which was held at Casselton, N. D.

He accepted Christ as his Saviour, was baptized, and received into the fellowship of the Mennonite Church in his youth. He had a keen interest in the work of the church and actively participated in its program. He served as treasurer for the group of men who sponsored the Mennonite Hour in the local radio station. He was also a member of the Gideons. Having a special interest in the Rocky Mountain Camp program, he was at the time of his death the camp contact man for the local congregation.

Besides his wife, Lulu, he is survived by four children, Ilene, Lynn, Marcella, and Machele, all of the home. An infant son preceded him in death. Also surviving are five brothers and four sisters, Elmer of Glendive, Mont., Ralph and Faye of Casselton, N. D., Earl of Guymon, Okla., Kenneth of Kindred, N. D., Ethel (Mrs. Albert Moser) of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Alice (Mrs. Roy Danielson) of Fargo, N. D., Marie (Mrs. Trent Kanagy) of Gruver, Texas, Grace (Mrs. Den Schantz) of Hydro, Okla., and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. One brother, Harold, and one sister, Ruth (Mrs. Gilford King), preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held July 22 in the First Baptist Church of Perryton,Texas, with Earl Showalter and Wallace Jantz in charge. Interment was made in Ochiltree County cemetery.
