Services were held Nov. 13 at the First Mennonite Church in Newton for Peter H. Janzen, 96. Burial was in the North Inman Cemetery at Inman. Floyd G. Bartel officiated. Janzen died Nov. 10 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He had been a resident of Friendly Acres in Newton. A retired farmer and school custodian, he moved to Newton in 1934 from Turpin, Okla. He was born Dec. 19, 1885 to Henry H. and Elizabeth Heidebrecht Janzen in McPherson County. He was married on May 5, 1909 to Maria Eitzen, who died in 1963. Survivors include two daughters, Edna (Mrs. Ernest) Bartel of Newton and Dorothy (Mrs. Erwin) Sangals of Wichita; two sons, Arnold of Turpin, Okla., and Erwin of Springfield, Ill.; one sister, Lena Gaeddert of Inman; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 13 at the First Mennonite Church in Newton for Peter H. Janzen, 96. Burial was in the North Inman Cemetery at Inman. Floyd G. Bartel officiated. Janzen died Nov. 10 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He had been a resident of Friendly Acres in Newton. A retired farmer and school custodian, he moved to Newton in 1934 from Turpin, Okla.
