Aus Turkestan…. Sonntag den 23. Nov. entschlief sanft im Herrn der 18 jährige Jüngling Hermann Janzen, Sohn des Jak. Janzen von hier. Seine Eltern weilten im Samarischen. Ein harter Schlag für sie. Seine Krankheit war Pocken und Lungenentzündung.... Im Kreise Aulieata und Tschimkent, Syrdarja Gebiet, herrschen die Pocken und Masern. Nikolaipol, Turkestan, 8. Dez. Ein Leser. English translation:

From Turkestan…. On Sunday, Nov. 23, 18-year-old Hermann Janzen, son of Jak. Janzen from here, passed away gently in the Lord. His parents were in Samara. A hard blow for them. His illness was smallpox and pneumonia…. Smallpox and measles prevail in the districts of Aulie-Ata and Chimkent, Syr-Darya region. Nikolaipol, Turkestan, Dec. 8. A reader.
