MRS. LUISE JANZEN

Luise Janzen, nee Quiring, daughter Abram and Elizabeth Quiring (nee Koop was born on February 24, 1897 in Rosenort. Sagradowka, where she spent her childhood and youth. Her mother died in 1925 and her father in 1933. In November, 1933 she married Franz Jakob Janzen and adopted his three children, Frank, Henry and Anna.

They lived in Neu·Halbstadt, Sagradowka until 1943. During World War II they were evacuated by the retreating German army and settled in Wartheland, Poland. In 1944 her husband and both sons were called to serve in the German army. With the retreat- ing army she and her daughter came to Wolthem, Fallingbostel, where she later was reunited with her husband and sons.

In 1949 they immigrated to Winnipeg, and after three years moved to a small farm in Yarrow, B.C. In 1969 she moved to the Menno Home for two months and later settled with her daughter in Clearbrook, B.C.

When asked whether she was ready to die she replied: "Yes. Jonah the prophet says 'Salvation is of the Lord.'" She passed away December 7. The funeral, December 11, was conducted by Rev. H. Lenzmann and Rev. Peter Unger, in the Clearbrook MB Church.

She is survived by her sons, Frank and Katie Janzen, Henry and Martha Janzen, and her daughter, Annie Janzen, all of Clearbrook.
