Ontario M. B. Leader Called Away In Death

REV. JACOB K. JANZEN DIED AT GRIMSBY JULY 3 AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS

Kitchener, Ont. — A well known leader in the Mennonite Brethren Conference in Ontario, passed away on the morning of July 3 after a brief illness. His funeral was held Thursday, July 8, in his Vineland church.

Rev. Janzen was well known for his Church and benevolent work having been house father at the mental hospital "Bethania," which was the only mental hospital among the Mennonites in South Russia. After his arrival in Canada in the 1920's, he continued his preaching and teaching, and took an active part in the work of the present mental hospital in Vineland, called "Bethesda."

He is chairman of the board of directors of the Bethesda Home. His funeral was attended by many friends and relatives, including some of the leaders of the Canadian Conferences of Mennonite Brethren churches.
