MARGARET ENSZ JANTZEN

Margaret Ensz Jantzen was born Oct. 6, 1893, to Gerhard and Marie Matthies Ensz at Samara, Russia. The family came to America in 1894 and lived at McLain, Kansas for a few years before moving to Newton, Kansas. In 1906 the family moved to Beatrice, Neb. to make their home.

She attended public school in Newton, Kansas and the Mennonite Bible school near Beatrice.

On June 4, 1910 she was baptized upon the confession of her faith by Elder Gerhard Penner and joined the First Mennonite church of Beatrice of which she was a member at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage with Henry P. Jantzen [sic Henry B. Jantzen] on March 13, 1919. They shared joys and sorrows for 34 years. Five children were born into this home.

She took an active interest in church and mission circle. She enjoyed her family, relatives, and friends greatly.

During the last years she underwent surgery and treatment frequently. It pleased the Lord to call her home on Nov. 22, 1953, at 6 a.m. She reached the age of 60 years, one month and 16 days.

Surviving are her husband, H. B. Jantzen, Emma at home, Margaret Grundman, Moundridge, Kansas, Henry E. at home, John and Sarah Ann of Beatrice; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Jantzen, Mrs. Cor. Jantzen, Mrs. J. B. Jantzen, Mrs. A. M. Epp; four brothers, Gerhard B. Ensz, Ben M. Ensz, Gustav W. Ensz, Henry H. Ensz
