FRANK JANTZEN

Our dearly beloved husband and father, Frank Jantzen, was born September 10, 1879, in York county, near Henderson, Nebraska. He died November 26, 1943, at 8:20 P.M. at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 16 days.

In his youth he had a sense of spiritual need and entered membership of the Bethesda Church in Henderson, Nebraska. At this place he spent his early life.

On August 6, 1905, he was united in holy matrimony with Anna Willems. This union was blessed with six children, four daughters and two sons.

In February, 1923, he moved with his family from their farm near Henderson, Nebraska, to a farm near Paxton, Nebraska, where he lived 18 years. The last town he lived in retirement in Ogallala, Nebraska.

In March, 1941, he came to a full realization of his need of salvation in Jesus Christ and accepted Christ as his personal Saviour, thus passing from spiritual death unto life. He loved his Saviour dearly and left many a true testimony for Him, especially to those who came to visit him in his illness. He loved the Word of God and the fellowship of God's people. Since he was confined to his home so much he enjoyed listening to the various Gospel broadcasts. He loved the songs about heaven and often joined in singing them.

Father's health has been failing for a number of years due to various complications which eventually centered upon his heart. The last month he was confined mostly to his bed. His faith remained unshaken, also his testimony remained that of praise and submission to God. The day before his death he spoke much of heaven and his desire to go. He prayed much and quoted precious verses of Scripture, also admonishing his family to be true to the Lord. His last few hours he slept quietly and his soul slipped peacefully into the presence of his Lord.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, his four daughters, Mathilda (Mrs. Glenn Krause) North Platte, Nebraska, Lenora (Mrs. Brindle) Ogallala, Nebraska, Irene (Mrs. Allen Fast) Los Angeles, California, and Marie (Mrs. Herbert Goossen) Paxton, Nebraska, his two sons, Herbert of Hampton, Nebraska and Franklin of Paxton, Nebraska, three sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law and nine grandchildren — one preceded him in death; two brothers Peter and Dietrich, both of Henderson, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Schmidt, also of Henderson; and three half-brothers, George and John Jantzen and Henry Tessman and one half-sister, Mrs. David Schellenberg.
