DANIEL D.JANZEN

Daniel D. Janzen, son of David C. and Emilia (Hein) Janzen, was born on Apr. 13, 1906 on a farm near Lehigh, Kan. He attended the schools in the Lehigh community.

He was baptized in May 1922 and accepted into the Lehigh Mennonite Brethren Church. On June 29,1930 he transferred his membership to the General Conference church of Lehigh. On Dec. 30, 1967 his membership was transferred to the Warden Mennonite Church. Warden, Wash. On Feb. 14, 1971 he again became a member of the Lehigh Mennonite Church where he was a faithful member at the time of his death. He served in various offices in this church, including treasurer, trustee and deacon.

On May 24, 1929, he was married to Pearl Unruh. Three children were born to this union.

Dan spent most of his life farming at Lehigh and at Warden, Wash.

He died on Friday. July 15, reaching the age of 71.

Left on earth but rejoicing in Dan's new found life of completed joy are his wife; one son, Leo and wife Velda of Buhler, two daughters, Diana Jantzen of South Seattle, Wash., and Jane and husband Ed Wohicke of Palmdale, Calif., two grandsons and five granddaughters; one brother, Sol Janzen of Hutchinson, Kan.; one sister, Lydia Kasper of Gate, Okla., four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
