Mrs. Marie (Plenert) Jantz was born at Hillsboro, Kansas on Jan. 31, 1889, to Rev. John and Amelia Plenert. She departed this life on August 3, 1954, at her home at Drake, Saskatchewan, having attained the age of 65 years, six months and three days.

On July 1, 1906, she was baptized on confession of faith and received into membership of the Johannestahl Mennonite church at Hillsboro.

On Jan. 4, 1924, she was united in marriage with Henry H. Jantz of Drake, Saskatchewan. On June 19, 1927, she was accepted into membership of the North Star Mennonite church at Drake, where she remained a faithful, active member.

After several months’ illness, she underwent critical surgery on April 3 of this year at the Saskatoon City hospital. It had been hoped that this would restore her to good health, but the Lord has seen fit to call her home to her reward.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Henry H. Jantz; seven children, Adelia (Mrs. Paul Schroeder) of Drake, Sask., Ramon of Chicago, Ill., Lillian of Regina, Sask., Irma (Mrs. Norman Bergen) of Chicago, Leola (Mrs. Edgar Epp) of Rosthern, Sask., Loyal and Willis, at home; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; five brothers, Albert, Herman, Erwin, and Ben of Hillsboro and Art of Hutchinson, Kansas; two sisters, Emma of Telford, Penn, and Elda, (Mrs. Elmer Klassen) of Hillsboro; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the North Star Mennonite church at Drake on August 7 at 2:30 p.m. Officiating ministers were E. S. Bartel, Drake; S. Schantz, Guernsey; and J. Gerbrandt, Saskatoon.

MRS. MARIE JANTZ

Mrs. Marie (Plenert) Jantz was born at Hillsboro, Kansas on Jan. 31, 1889, to Rev. John and Amelia Plenert. She departed this life on August 3, 1954, at her home at Drake, Saskatchewan, having attained the age of 65 years, six months and three days.
