MRS. LILLIAN JANTZ

Lillian Ruth Jantz was born to John and Maria Schrag Waltner on Feb. 28, 1914 near Menno, 20 miles west of Ritzville, Wash. On completing elementary school she attended the Odessa High School.

She was married to Joe Jantz on Oct. 3, 1940. They lived for a year at Odessa after which they moved to a farm near Ruff where they made their home until 1953. Since 1954 they have resided in their home at Ritzville.

On May 27, 1928 she was baptized and became a member of the Menno Mennonite Church. She served as church organist for many years and manifested an active interest in the work of the church. She also assisted at the Community Church of Priest Lake, Idaho during her summer stay.

The beauties of nature were a source of great joy to her. She took delight in the setting of their summer home at Priest Lake, Idaho where she spent most of her time in recent summers. She was gifted with an artistic sense. This manifested itself in her love for flowers and interior decorating and her appreciation for distinctive colors and designs. A feeling for music prompted her to spend many creative moments at her organ. She also loved children. Though it was not her privilege to have a child of her own she took great interest in her nieces and nephews.
