OLDEST PIONEER OF HALSTEAD COMMUNITY DIED AT AGE 97
Halstead, Kans. — Funeral services for Tobias A. Jantz, 97, Halstead’s oldest pioneer resident, were held Tuesday morning, Sept. 30, at the Grace Mennonite church, Rev. Carl Dirks and Rev. Paul Becker officiating. He passed away at his home here Sept. 27.
Born at Antanafka, Poland on Dec. 2, 1854, he came to Kansas in 1874 and was a pioneer Harvey county settler.
He leaves three sons, Pete, Henry and Adolph Johnson, all of this community; four daughters, Emma, Carrie, Lena and Eda Johnson, all of the home; and three brothers, John J., Jacob J., and Elias Johnson, also of Halstead.
