In about5 1907, when Oklahoma was opened for settlement, he together with his parents moved to a farm in the area of Meno, Okla., where he spent his young manhood.
Upon his profession of faith in the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior he was baptized by Rev. John Ratzlaff on Sept. 17, 1911, and received as a member of the New Hopedale Mennonite Church, Meno.
On Feb. 6, 1921, he was united in marriage with Mary A. Koehn. Later that some year they moved to Perryton, Texas. God blessed the home with three daughters. While in the Perryton area they were members of the Bethel Mennonite Church. In August of 1944 the family moved to the area of Ferndale, Wash., where they engaged in farming.
When the Glendale Mennonite Church was organized in February 1945, Bro. Jantz was one of the charter members and served as one of the church officers during the early years of the church. From his earliest years it was his desire to present a consistent testimony, and the Lord has seen fit to use Bro. Jantz in various areas of spiritual service.
About four years ago he suffered a stroke. He recovered somewhat, but it left an impairment in his body, steadily lessening his strength. On Nov. 21, 1958, he suffered another stroke at which time he was taken to the hospital, remaining there until the time of his death.
Last rites were held at the Glendale Mennonite Church at 2:00 p. m. on April 16, Rev. M. D. Hilty spoke a few words of comfort and led in prayer. Music was furnished by the Koehn Sisters trio and a duet. Rev. D. G. Regier spoke on I Cor. 13:12. Pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased. Rev. F. D. Koehn conducted the graveside service at the Enterprise Cemetery.
