David Jantz

David Jantz was born in Koaswold [sic Karolswalde], Russia, December 23, 1884, and passed away at the St. Rose hospital, Great Bend, Kansas, May 12, 1931, at 2:15 P. M. at the age of forty-six years, four months and twenty days.

In 1906 David came to America, together with his brother, John Jantz. On February 10, 1915, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Unruh, and two sons, Edward and Arthur, and one to this union three children were born. daughter, Nettie Jane. [sic to this union three children were born: two sons, Edward and Arthur, and one daughter, Nettie Jane.]

Mr. Jantz leaves to mourn his untimely death, his widow three children his aged father and one brother, Henry Jantz, who remained in Russia three other brothers, Carl of Canada, and John and Fred Jantz of Ingalls, Kansas. His mother, three sisters and one brother preceeded [sic] him to the Great Beyond.

Mr. Jantz' death was the result of injuries he received in an automobile accident about two months ago. It was thought that he was improving and he had been permitted to leave the hospital, but soon symptoms of serious results from the injuries manifested themselves and he returned to the hospital where he passed away May 12. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, May 14 from the home of his brother-in-law, Henry D. Schmidt, and also from the Mennonite church. The large number of friends who attended the services testified to the respect and esteem in which Mr. Jantz was held.
