Mrs Henry F. Issac [sic Isaac]

Mrs. Henry F. Issac [sic Isaac], nee Lena E. Loewen, was born on Dec. 24, 1884, at Jansen, Nebr. She went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 1952, at 12:00 o’clock while in the Fowler, Kans. Community hospital, at the age of 67 years, two months and nine days.

She felt her lost condition in her youth, was converted and upon her confession of faith was baptized on May 23, 1904, by Elder Abram L. Friesen and accepted into the Mennonite Church.

Since the age of fifteen, when she became seriously ill, she had not enjoyed good health and had been under the doctor’s care almost constantly.

She was united in marriage to Henry F. Isaac on July 29, 1906 at Jansen, Nebr., moved to Meade, Kans. on Dec. 3 the same year and lived here until the Lord called her Home, sharing joys and sorrows for 45 years, seven months and six days. This union was blessed with one son, Henry.

In 1910 she became very seriously ill with pneumonia from which she never completely recovered. The Lord saw fit to permit her to experience much sickness and suffering, resulting in partial deafness, which handicapped her greatly.

She together with her husband joined the Emmanuel Mennonite church on April 16, 1944, of which church she remained a faithful member.

On August 25, 1952, after another attack of pneumonia she was taken to the hospital for medical care and the Lord again partially restored her. On Feb. 27, 1952 the day after having attended church services for the last time she took suddenly and seriously ill with another attack. Then she said in the German, “Jesus Saviour Pilot Me” as though she was aware that these were her last days upon the earth.

The next day she was taken to the hospital at Fowler. In her conscious moments and hours, for the last several days, she in various ways indicated and expressed her joy in going home and her desire that her loved ones should follow her. Since she had suffered so much, she rejoiced in the thought of Heaven “where there is no pain and sadness.” The Lord gave grace so that she quietly passed away on Tuesday March 4.

She is survived by her husband, H. F. Isaac, and children, Henry and his wife, Helen; seven brothers and three sisters, Margaret (Mrs. A. H. Friesen), Peter, Henry, and Jacob E. Loewen, Mary (Mrs. John F. Isaac), Agnes (Mrs. P. J. Friesen), Abe, John, Isaac, and William Loewen, all of Meade with the exception of Mary and Agnes who are of Dinuba, Calif.

These and a host of relatives and friends sorrow at the separation and will miss her, yet there is a deep sense of peace and consolation to know that victory complete is hers in Christ Jesus. We are trusting in Him in Whom she trusted and are anticipating a blessed reunion in our heavenly Home.
