JOHN ELDON ISAAC

John Eldon Isaac, our beloved son and brother, was born on August 22, 1937, at Meade, Kansas and passed away to be with his Saviour and Lord on May 22, 1957 at 12:15 p.m. in the Meade Hospital, having reached the age of 19 years and nine months.

John Eldon enjoyed normal health as a boy until January 1950 when he became ill and the doctors diagnosed his case to be Bright's disease. However, he recovered sufficiently that year so that he could finish his grade school for which he was very grateful.

On Feb. 22, 1950, after he recognized his need of a Saviour, he accepted Christ, basing his salvation upon Acts 16:31. Since that time he has been rejoicing in the Lord although often suffering much physically. He was baptized upon his faith in Christ on June 22, 1952 and received into the fellowship of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church.

He was under the doctor's care from the time he first became ill. Sudden relapses made hospitalization and blood transfusions necessary — being hospitalized six times and receiving a total of 13 blood transfusions. However, he enjoyed recurrent times of better health. On Saturday, May 4, he was admitted to the Meade Hospital. Although given the best of medical care and though many prayers ascended to the throne of grace on his behalf, the Lord saw fit to take him from this life 18 days later.

During his illness John repeatedly expressed his desire to go to his heavenly home. We marvelled at his patience in the midst of suffering but the answer lay in his trust in the Lord and his complete confidence that what He did was best. He found great comfort in the Word of God and spiritual strength, even in the last while, in quoting such wonderful Bible verses as John 3:16. Romans 6:23, Psalm 23:1, I John 1:9 and others. The visits of concerned friends and loved ones were highly appreciated during his times of suffering.

John Eldon will be remembered as one who was glad to do his part on the farm as he was physically able. We are comforted at the thought that our loved one was prepared to meet his Saviour and that he has no further suffering to endure, as we read in Revelation 21:4.

He leaves to mourn his early departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Corny Isaac; brothers and sisters: Alma, Menno Dewayn [sic Dwayne], Mary Ann, Joan, Betty, Sharon and Kenneth; his grandmothers, Mrs. John J. Reimer and Mrs. P. F. Isaac; great-grandparents, A. J. Friesens; many uncles and aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

We sorrow, but have the blessed hope of seeing him in heaven never to part again. Our loss is his gain. — The Corny Isaac Family.
