REV. JACOB F. ISAAC
Rev. Jacob F. Isaac was born to Abraham and Margaretha (Friesen) Isaac on April 7, 1883 at Jansen, Neb.
In 1900 he accepted the Lord as his personal Saviour. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith by Elder Abraham L. Friesen in June 1901 and received into the Kleine Gemeinde Church (later called E.M.C.).
On Nov. 10, 1901 he was united in marriage with Katherine J. Friesen. Her father, Rev. Cornelius L. Friesen, officiated at the wedding. To this union eleven children were born. They shared joys and sorrows for 35 years and eight months. The Lord called her home on July 30, 1936.
Father was called upon to help in the work of the church and considered it a joy to be engaged in the ministry of music and the directing of youth. During October of 1911 he was elected minister of the church. Shortly thereafter, greater responsibilities as Leader and Elder were entrusted to him. In November of that year he was ordained into the ministry by Elder Peter Dueck of Canada. The Lord gave strength for each task so that he could serve Him with joy and gladness.
On Dec. 6, 1936 he was united in marriage with Maria R. Dueck. Her father, Rev. Henry R. Dueck, officiated. To this union were born two sons.
On May 21, 1961 he joined the membership of the E.M.B. Church in Meade, Kansas.
Father loved to serve in the House of God and to fellowship with His Saints. He enjoyed good health until the fall of 1969. Although his health was impaired due to a heart ailment, he was able to attend church services regularly until June 28, 1970.
On July 9, 1970 he entered the Meade Hospital where he remained in a weakened physical condition until death. He repeatedly expressed his deep desire to go Home to be with the Lord. He reached the age of 87 years, four months and seven days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Maria; two daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Wm. Loewen and Kathryn, Mrs. Mrs. Dick Classen; nine sons, Henry, Pete, John, Jake, Ben, George, and Abe, all of Meade, Levi or Liberal, and Alvin of Elbing, Kan.; one son-in-law; 10 daughters-in-law; 42 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry F. of Meade; one sister, Margaret, Mrs. J. F. Friesen of Reedley, Calif.
Two sons, Cornelius and Dick and one son-in-law, Wm Loewen, preceded him in death.
We mourn not as those who have no hope, for we shall meet again in Glory. — The Family.
