SUSIE ZIELKE HUEBERT

Susie Zielke, daughter of Abraham and Lena (nee Teske) Zielke was born Feb. 6, 1895 in Harvey County, Kansas.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 14, and was baptized on August 27, 1899 by Elder Abraham Schellenberg.

On March 10, 1901, she was united in marriage with Klaas H. Huebert, and they established their home in Caddo County, Oklahoma. Here their first two children were born. They later moved to the Corn community in Washita County, Oklahoma, where four more children were born. Their eldest son, Henry, preceded her in death on June 3, 1914.

The family moved to a farm north of Ingalls, Kan. In 1919, where they remained until the death of her husband on Dec. 10, 1952. Since that time she had made her home with her daughter, Marie, in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Huebert was active in the service of the church wherever the family resided. Upon her move to Los Angeles, she transferred her membership from the Mennonite Brethren Church at Ingalls to the Roger Williams Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher until a few years ago, when she asked to be relieved of this assignment because of her impaired hearing.

She had the first of three strokes in September 1965, and went to her reward on April 6, 1966, remaining steadfast in her faith and trust in God to the end.

She leaves to mourn her departure one daughter, Marie, of Los Angeles; four sons, Abe of Garden City, Marvin of Fort Morgan, Colo., Wesley of Leavenworrth, and Barney of Los Angeles and Guadalajara, Mexico; brothers, John Zielke of Dodge City, Peter Zielke of Yakima, Wash., David Zielke of Inman, George Zielke of Fowler, and Henry Zielke of Texline, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Sarah Warkentin of Meade and Mrs. Bertha Harder, Hutchinson; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery of Garden City, Kan. on April13.
