Kalona, Iowa Retired Farmer Dies Suddenly

Kalona, Iowa. — A heart attack suffered Saturday forenoon, Feb. 29, proved fatal the same day to Alvin J. Hostetler, 66, retired farmer of Kalona.

A native of Lagrange County, Indiana, he came to this community in 1927 and was married here the following year to Ida Miller. She survives with their family of three sons, two daughters and 18 grandchildren.

Mr. Hostetler was a member of the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church, where the funeral services were conducted March 4 by Morris Swartzendruber and David L. Yorker.
