Nancy was the daughter of John P. and Elizabeth (Detweiler) Hostetler. She was married on Dec. 5, 1905, to Joseph H. Hostetler. Surviving her are a sister, Elizabeth Kauffman, and two brothers, Noah and Dan, all of Belleville, Pa., and six of her seven children. They are: Lizzie, Mrs. Samuel Y. Detweiler of Allensville, Pa., Jacob of Sarasota, Fla., Sylvia, Mrs. Daniel N. King of Belleville, Pa. John of Willow Grove, Pa., Mary, Mrs. Merle Smith of Newton, Kan., and Barbara, Mrs. Fred Slabaugh of Greenwood. The oldest son, Aaron, died near Kalona, Iowa in 1963.
For the past number of years Nancy had lived with her youngest daughter Barbara and family, the Fred Slabaughs, near Greenwood, where she passed away due to complications of aging. She enjoyed good health most of her life. She seldom complained and enjoyed many visits from her friends.
She was baptized in the Amish Church and at the time of her death was a member of the Allensville Mennonite church. Joe and Nancy lived in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania until 1930 when they moved to Iowa. They engaged in farming and following their retirement they lived near Sarasota, Fla. and in Delaware.
