MRS. LYDIA HOSTETLER

Mrs. Lydia Hostetler, 84, Widow of John J. Hostetler, builder of the Goshen high school building in 1922, died at 6:20 a. m. July 18 at the Weaver convalescent home, Waterfond [sic Waterford], Ind. where she had been apatient [sic] for the past two months. Mrs. Hostetler had been an invalid for nine years and was taken to the convelescent [sic] home from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pauline Voorhees, in Goshen.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Troyer, Mrs. Hostetler was born in Holmes county, Ohio, July 10, 1866. She married Mr. Hostetler in 1889 and his death occurred Feb. 8, 1935. The Hostetlers formerly resided in Elkhart.

Surviving Mrs. Hostetler are seven daughters, Mrs. George W. (Keturah) Weaver, of Elkhart; Mrs. Menno C. (Orpha) Landis, of Goshen; Miss Mary Hostetler, of Chicago; Mrs. Paul F. (Grace) Blosser, of Williamstown. O.; Mrs. W. W. (Anne) Wagner, of Elkhart; Mrs. Fredric W. (Ruth) Banta, of Lake Wawasee; and Mrs. Voorhees; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Kurtz, of Goshen.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at the Eighth Street Mennonite church, of which Mrs. Hostetler was a member. The Rev. Robert W. Hartzler officiated and burial was in Violett cemetery.
