WIFE OF WELL KNOWN MANITOBA PASTOR CALLED BY DEATH

Plum Coulee, Man. — Funeral services were held Feb. 26 from the Bergthaler church here for Mrs. John (Toews) Hooge, 75, who passed away at the Winnipeg General hospital Feb. 24 after a long illness.

Rev. Hooge had been injured in a traffic accident while on his way to visit Mrs. Hooge in the hospital. He was taken to the same hospital to a room adjoining hers and could be with her until the end. He was unable to attend the funeral, but the services were recorded, and during the funeral hour his brother, Peter, Rev. Benj. Ewert and Rev. Menno Toews kept him company. Ministers of the district served as pall bearers.
