Christian Hofstetter

Christian Hofstetter was born in Canton Berne, Switzerland, Feb. 3, 1840, and died at his home on the P. P. Hofstetter farm at Pandora, Ohio, on Thursday evening, July 21, at the age of 87 years, 5 months, 25 days.

In 1866 he was married to Anna Zuercher. In 1881 they came to this country with a family of eight children. His wife died Feb. 12, 1887. He remained a widower until Nov. 28, 1908, when he was married to Elizabeth P. Hofstetter. A house was built on her home farm where, as infirmities of old age came on, she tenderly and patiently ministered to his needs. He led an unassuming Christian life, and will not be forgotten by his family nor many friends. The funeral, which was largely attended, was held Sunday afternoon from the Sonnenberg church conducted by the pastor, Rev. Amstutz and Rev. A. C. Good, of Sterling, Ill. — Dalton Gazette.
